When pressure is manageable, it can be challenging and motivating, but
frequently increased responsibilities and ever-changing workloads and
deadlines lead to the damaging effects of stress on individuals, colleagues
and the organisation. This one day programme identifies the causes and
makes suggestions on how to cope.
A 1 day on-site course. For up to 10 participants.
Course designed for anyone who wishing to avoid the effects of stress
or who may be concerned about others.
Course Aims and Objectives
At the end of the course the participants will be able to:
Understand the difference between 'pressure' and 'stress'
Understand the causes and the 'costs' of stress
Recognise the signs of stress in themselves and others, and what happens
when people are stressed
Understand how stress can affect behaviour, the impact it can have
on the individual and their colleagues, how different people cope and
react to too much pressure, and the positive and negative effects of
stress
Look at how to overcome stress, coping techniques, managing change
and adapting themselves
The course will also cover:
Practicing assertive behaviour
Basics of Time Management and how to cope, recognising the need to
control pressures and demands
Action plan to manage stress in the short term and examine ways of
reducing and preventing stress in the future
