Stress Management

When pressure is manageable, it can be challenging and motivating, but frequently increased responsibilities and ever-changing workloads and deadlines lead to the damaging effects of stress on individuals, colleagues and the organisation. This one day programme identifies the causes and makes suggestions on how to cope.

A 1 day on-site course. For up to 10 participants.

Course designed for anyone who wishing to avoid the effects of stress or who may be concerned about others.

Course Aims and Objectives

At the end of the course the participants will be able to:

  • Understand the difference between 'pressure' and 'stress'
  • Understand the causes and the 'costs' of stress
  • Recognise the signs of stress in themselves and others, and what happens when people are stressed
  • Understand how stress can affect behaviour, the impact it can have on the individual and their colleagues, how different people cope and react to too much pressure, and the positive and negative effects of stress
  • Look at how to overcome stress, coping techniques, managing change and adapting themselves

The course will also cover:

  • Practicing assertive behaviour
  • Basics of Time Management and how to cope, recognising the need to control pressures and demands
  • Action plan to manage stress in the short term and examine ways of reducing and preventing stress in the future
